Holi !!

Holi- Festival of colours!!

Holi! India's Biggest Festival, also known as the "Festival of colours" or the "Festival of love".
The best thing I Love about Holi is Everything - The gujiyas, gulal and the fragrance of gulal, water guns filled with coloured water. ...For those who are more adventurous than me... there is Bhang , lassi too.

So, The festival of colours is right around the corner, and as careful as you can be with your own colours, you never really get to know the quality of colours people are applying on your skin.
so, take these precautionary measures before you step out and indulge in the play of colours.

Precautions Before you step out in the play of colours:

1) Use Herbal Colours:

Since it is difficult to tell the difference b/w Natural colours & dye colours, it's necessary to take precautions. Either buy herbal colours, or else make colours at home from Flowers such as tesu or genda, even beetroot juice.

2) Dress Right:

It's advisable to wear long-sleeved clothing. And whatever you do, stick to cotton- it's safer for the skin, let your body breathe and dries up quicker than every other fabric.

3) Oil it up:

And by 'it' I mean pretty much your entire body. Pick an oil that you know suits your skin type- Coconut or mustard oil-and apply it generously on all the body parts that you know are going to be exposed, especially your hair. If the hair and body are oiled well, they won't absorb the harmful colours as much.

4) Don't forget Sunscreen:
Don't forget to apply sunscreen after oiling your body, and make sure it is gel based, waterproof & of SPF 25.

5) The Sun is not your best friend:
I understand that you have to move about, and can't afford to avoid the sun (frankly, you shouldn't, it's Holi!), but once you are so layered on with colours that you can't recognise your own face in the mirror, try to avoid sitting in the sun. Once the colours get baked in the sun, they become even more difficult to get off the skin.

6) Apply Nail Paint:
Apply a thick coat of dark nail paint, preferable the darkest colour possible, and remove it after playing Holi.

7) Keep yourself hydrated:

Last but not the least, Drink lots and lots of water before playing Holi. It keeps you hydrated, thus energetic and refreshed.

Wish you and your family a very Happy and Safe Holi !
And please Have a Cruelty-Free Holi,

Don't Throw Colours and water on Animals !

WOMEN'S DAY ! (#MakeItHappen)

We Celebrate International Women's Day on 8th March But Some women says that "Every day should be women's day. I have this one thing to say to all - If this day is supposed to mark a change, let's consider it. There is a lot that still needs to change in the way society looks at a woman, still a lot of issues that need to be sorted. There is no problem in dedicating a day to mark the beginning of this change. Instead of opposing or demeaning it, let's be a part of it Ladies !

So here is the new Pledge this women's day- Don't wait for the police or government to come and save you. I know we watch it in films all the time, but that is not how it happens in reality. You have to be your own Hero, take your own safety in your own hands.
Yes, we are good enough to take care of ourselves (Physically). We only need to realise this potential and put it to optimal use.

'No means no'

This Campaign, along with other causes attached to being a woman, is very important. I don't take it just as a phrase, it is something that needs to be practiced.

Feminist?

Yes, I am, but my Definition may not be in conformation with a lot of people. I am a proud feminist but I am not going to bash men, blaming them for all woes woman face. I believe half the reason why women find themselves in a condition that they do today is because they allow others to take decision on their behalf. I don't blame men for that.
I also don't demand any kind of a reservation in terms of pay or college admission- all this is not feminism according to me. It is about getting equal opportunities and making the most of it.

"Being a Feminist doesn't mean you are an extremist. Nor I am. your definition of a feminist may not be the same as mine and that's Okay.

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY !

All About My 'New" Hair!

All About My 'New' Hair !!

so, I went for hair Coloring! And if you all know me, then you know previously I had long Black hair which I got Colored, because I was bored of it. I mean who doesn't need a change in life, right?

It's been a month since I got my hair colored as I thought it was about time I should do experiment wit my hair. 2k17 came with a trend name 'Balayage' , Which is still going strong and as it is, I decided to go for it.
For all of you who don't know, Balayage is a technique for highlighting hair in which the dye is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect.

I choose the color 'Light blond with ash reflect (9.11)' from L'Oreal.
The hair coloring process was two hour long which requires much patience ladies, getting your hair colored isn't a piece of cake!

Anyways , In the end, I'm pretty happy with the results and couldn't have asked for more.

As we all know hair color has been a tricky business for Indian girls, especially the ones who have dusky skin tones.
I choose color which went according to my complexion, so all the Wheatish tone girls out there, You can get this look done without a doubt Cheers !!

Pimples, be gone!

                      Pimples, be gone!
I’m jumping with excitement because Monsoon is coming up. As much as I love monsoons, my skin hates it! It gets oily and prone to pimples. Pimples are like that annoying, clingy friend who think “Oh you’re going to a party? Let me come along too.” Pimples are every girl’s enemy, and that too just three days before my shoot?
It was a nightmare. My skin had to look flawless.
So there I was, sitting in distress (which makes things worse btw) googling home remedies to get rid of my pimples and then I came across the Himalaya Purifying Neem face wash. It had neem and turmeric which are excellent to remove impurities from the face and give a radiant complexion. I decided to give it a shot, and VOILA! It felt like my pimple got photoshopped off my face, it was gone!

Since then, I swear by this product. My only regret is that I didn’t try it sooner. It is soap free which means it is not harsh on the skin and is suitable for all skin types. The neem helps get rid of all the dirt and impurities and the turmeric helps even out the skin tone and makes it supple and soft.
Haven’t we all heard our grandmothers’ advice that these two ingredients are great for healthy, happy skin? Well, there you have it! Your grandma’s secret ingredients fit in a bottle to make sure you look your best every day. After all, you look good, you feel good!
